I wrote this film during the rise of violence towards the AAPI community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead of trying to capture the scale or frequency of this issue, I wanted to ground the film by focusing on a relationship between a mother and a son. Most of the inspiration was out of fear of something happening to my parents.
